Spotlight: Ellie Andrews on Growing Up in the Profession and Starting Her Journey with Tribute Technology
From family roots to a future in digital innovation
At Tribute Technology, we’re proud to have team members who bring not only professional skills but also a personal connection to the funeral profession.
One of them is Ellie Andrews, Digital Marketing Specialist, who grew up seeing the profession through the eyes of her father, Will Andrews, President of Anthem Partners, a privately owned operator of cemeteries, crematories, and funeral homes.
Will’s career, from leadership roles at Batesville Casket Company to his current position with Anthem, gave Ellie an early understanding of how funeral service impacts families. Today, she’s charting her own course with Tribute Technology, blending that legacy with her expertise in digital marketing.
Growing up around the funeral profession, did you ever imagine it would become such a meaningful part of your own journey?
Ellie: Not at first. I admired the work my dad did and the impact it had on families, but I didn’t necessarily see myself doing it. Over time, I came to understand just how meaningful the work is. Through my dad, I had the chance to meet people in the profession, learn more about it firsthand, and build connections of my own. Now that I’ve just graduated college, I’m excited to be starting my career in this field and to have the opportunity to serve families in such a meaningful way.
What inspired you to join Tribute Technology and continue your journey in the funeral profession?
Ellie: What drew me to Tribute Technology was the company culture and the way it values both innovation and people. I’ve always been interested in digital marketing, and this role gave me the chance to combine those skills with the perspective I already had from growing up around the profession.
What do you admire most about funeral professionals and the work they do for families?
Ellie: The compassion and care they show during such difficult times. It takes incredible empathy and patience to walk families through loss, and I respect how funeral professionals balance professionalism with genuine human connection. I also admire the behind-the-scenes effort—planning, attention to detail, and organization—that makes everything come together for families in a meaningful way.
How do you see technology helping funeral directors serve families better today and in the future?
Ellie: Technology already plays a big role, and it will only grow. Looking ahead, it’s going to be even more important in helping funeral homes adapt to changing expectations and continue providing meaningful experiences.
If you could share one insight with someone just starting in the profession, what would it be?
Ellie: Stay open to learning. There’s so much more that goes into this work than you realize on the surface, and every experience teaches you something new. Being part of a team like this, where the goal is to support funeral professionals, has shown me how important it is to ask questions, listen, and take in as much as you can.
Ellie’s story is a reminder of the heart and dedication behind funeral service — and how the next generation is finding new ways to carry it forward. We’re excited to see the perspective she brings to Tribute Technology and proud to support her as she builds her own place in the profession.
