Families Are Planning Online, Arrangers Are Adapting
We’re sponsoring NFDA’s Arranger Training to support funeral professionals as families increasingly begin arrangements online.
More families are beginning the funeral planning process online, often through obituary pages that serve as their first point of contact with a funeral home.
As this becomes more common, arranger education plays an increasingly important role. That’s why Tribute Technology is proud to sponsor the National Funeral Directors Association’s (NFDA) Arranger Training program.
The Arrangement Conversation Is Starting Earlier
Tribute Technology research shows that funeral home websites attract more than 3.5 billion visitors each year, with obituary pages receiving five times more traffic than other sections of the site. For many families, the obituary is where planning begins, shaping questions, expectations, and preferences before any in-person conversation takes place.
That shift isn’t just anecdotal. According to the National Funeral Directors Association’s 2025 Consumer Awareness & Preferences Study, nearly 30% of families now complete all funeral arrangements online, while 31.8% prefer a hybrid approach that combines online planning with direct consultation with a funeral director.
The same study found that 40% of consumers have used the services of a funeral home they discovered on Facebook, reinforcing how often digital touchpoints influence decisions long before a phone call or visit ever happens.
By the time families sit down to make arrangements, many have already reviewed options, shared information with loved ones, and formed expectations based on what they’ve seen online. That reality changes the nature of the arrangement conversation, as funeral directors are increasingly meeting families who are informed, involved, and ready to move forward.
Where Training and Technology Meet
This is where Tribute Technology’s work intersects directly with arranger training. Our technology is built around how families actually plan today, supporting online, in-person, and hybrid arrangements while reducing unnecessary back-and-forth and missed details. When the process is clearer and more connected, funeral directors can spend more time guiding families and less time managing logistics.
Sponsoring NFDA’s Arranger Training reflects that same focus. The training strengthens the interpersonal skills needed in today’s arrangement room, while our technology supports how and where those conversations now begin. Together, they help funeral professionals meet families earlier, communicate more clearly, and guide decisions with confidence.
Tribute Technology has long supported NFDA programs and initiatives, and sponsoring Arranger Training reflects a shared commitment to education and professional development as funeral service continues to evolve.
We’re proud to support NFDA’s Arranger Training and the funeral professionals guiding families through important decisions.
