- Total families served = The average number of families you serve in a year. The average NFDA-member funeral home serves 113 families per year (Source: NFDA).
- Cremation rate = The percent of your cases that end in cremation (0-100). In 2021, the average cremation rate in the U.S. was about 57.5% (Source: CANA).
- Direct cremation rate = The percentage of your cases that are direct cremations (0-100). In 2022, the direct cremation rate in the U.S. was about 24% (Source: 2022 NFDA Cremation & Burial Report).
